Butter Bean, Butter Boom!

I put up 20 quarts of these today. We are ready for the holidays and the winter time soups. George shelled during the week and I blanched and bagged them this afternoon. Nathan supervised me in the kitchen. Our garden and our families gardens have been extremely productive this season. GW has snaps that will soon need picking along with kale and collards. George is going to take a ham down from the smokehouse and cook it this week. I look forward to the hams we put up here because they taste so much better. George smoked them in apple, pecan and oak wood. I think the apple makes it taste better! We are ready for Halloween and I will try to post a picture of us tomorrow.
