Sleepless Night and Other Excitement

It's early a.m. and I'm up with pain. I took some meds but don't want to lay back down 'til they kick in. On a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 4 right now, but I feel the meds will kick in and I should be ok today. As long as there is no nausea like yesterday I'll be fine. Yesterday was a little pain (2) and throw up nausea that was relieved with zofran. I still have not eaten beef. Hoping that was the cause of my extremely, painful have to go to the ER, attacks. Time will tell. I have to get my medport flushed this week, too. Patty and I are going to Pearle Vision tomorrow. They are running a good deal on BOGO so I'll get my eyes examined and get some glasses in the process. I also need to stock up on contacts so this is going to be a very expensive visit. I'm watching the Australian Open on the duece and Hingis is on the verge of winning against Strosur. She looks incredibly strong but Strosur is looking better in the second set and on a way to a decent comeback. Forced and unforced errors have killed her this match. These pics are from Friday when our transformer blew and caught the pole on fire. If George had not been home I would hate to think what would have happened to the house. The fire went down the guy wire and around the edge of the smokehouse. Thank God it wasn't worse. Dominion Power had power back to us by 8 that evening.

Out of the Way Ma, Sesame Street is On!

I had my teeth cleaned at the dental school this past Friday I didn't think I would ever get out of there. Two students worked on my mouth and took turns but waiting to progress to the next step required a signature from the head resident, which took--------forever!! We all slept 'til 7:30 yesterday morning which is extremely rare given that at least one of us is usually up. It sure felt good. Today it is cold with high's in 40's but the wind is whipping from the NW putting wind chills in the 20's and low teens. I wanted to take Nate out but its just too cold so it will have to wait until later in the week, maybe tomorrow but definitely Weds if its not raining like they are calling for. The temps are actually supposed to go up in the 60's this week. Nathan loves it outside and cries when I have to bring him in. He is starting to get on Marvel the Mustang on his own now, but can't seem to get off, yet!

Hunting Season Ends on Warm Note

Hunting season is over and this week is incredibly warm. Nate and I have been spending afternoons outside riding either the 4wheeler, golf cart or playing basketball. More like him watching me play. This morning while he was sitting in his chair, drinking his bottle, I put out his toys for play, once he finished eating he looked at what I had laid out and went over to the toy bin to look for his basketball. When he found it he looked at me and smiled and rolled it to me. I started dribbling it and he grinned even wider and started clapping his hands. That's my boy!...... This is the face that greets me each morning. He truly loves his Elmo and talks to him constantly in baby chatter.

Hello 2006

George, Nathan, Elly and I spent yesterday afternoon down at the pond. We built a fire and roasted hot dogs. George caught a few small bass and one nice one over a pound. A pack of wild dogs came upon us and Elly chased them away. A few shots from George's gun probably helped, too. It was a nice afternoon with temps in the 50's. This is a pic overlooking the pond.
